Abstract

The aim of this research is to study the effect of absorption of chemical solutions on the impact test of polymeric/ceramic composites [epoxy resin reinforced with nano-aluminum oxide powder (Al2O3 20 nm/gamma) in volume ratios (1%, 2%, 3%). The samples were prepared using manual molds. The impact test was applied for different periods of time on the prepared samples. All tests were performed under natural conditions (without immersion) and with immersion using dilute solutions of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide (0.2 N) for 9 weeks. Under natural conditions, the results showed an increase in the impact values. After immersing the samples in chemical solutions, it was observed that the impact test value decreased.
